“How does one market a film about internet spying
on the world’s largest social media platform?”
That was our central question in working on Laura Portrais’s daring 2010 biography of famed NSA whistleblower, Edward Snowden. We answered by pairing a futurist aesthetic with a found-in-a-dumpster counter-intelligence vibe, contextualizing the film by defining and elucidating its central themes. The campaign was one of the proudest (and longest!) in our history and resulted in an Oscar win for Best Documentary.
